Urgoz farm dead? Not really...
I'm sure a lot of clever people have already figured this out, but you can still farm the first part of Urgoz's Warren with a Ranger primary. It's basically the standard echo trapper setup with some clever placement of a spirit to keep all the monsters from suiciding. You get the same XP and same chance at gold drops, although it does take a couple of minutes instead of a couple of seconds now. I've been doing it this way even before the nerf because it seemed like there were more drops than doing it with spirits.
Start trapping the area where the back group spawns, then run to the popup trigger area and head back towards your traps.
The monsters will probably be dead by the time you get there.
Start trapping the second area, on the left side of the doorway.
Right as the first spirit dies, take a shot at the closest hopping vampire to agro the entire group. WALK backwards towards your traps, and get behind the remaining spirit. If you turn around and run, the vampires will most likely break agro.
If done correctly, the mob will ball up at the remaining spirit. Before they can use any suicide skills, they will start getting hit by the traps and knockdowns.
Pick up your stuff and enjoy the XP.

Cool. I suggest SQ over TF though. Constantly maintained, and 33 instead.

The original build did use SQ, but I was just trying Trapper's Speed since I've never used it. By dropping traps faster using TS theoretically the recharge of each trap starts faster. All in all it doesn't change the overall speed of the run so either can be used. Don't spend 1k to unlock one skill if you already have the other.
I'll see what I can do about the video, I've had bad luck trying in the past.

Wildi, I'm still getting the same quality drops as I was before the nerf - Zodiac items, Ironwings, Necromancer tomes, etc.

You could possibly do it with an Elementalist primary if you put a bunch of points into Energy Storage but with anything else it probably won't work. The Ranger uses Expertise to lower the energy costs of skills, and Dust trap is 25. You'll be dropping it at least 6 times with all the echoing.

Yay! Another 4 days to farm before they nerf the crap outta this again. I don't think this should've been posted so soon. I mean, people would've found out eventually, but the majority of good Rangers would've already figured this out (like I did) and got a head start. Just my opinion.

We almost have a rule against "waaah don't share my secret farm" posts in the, you know, FARMING forum.

Only way to nerf it is by removing these mobs... and if they do it... oh GOD...that's some wicked shit...

yes, echo does.
Arcane echo->echo = 2x Echo
click on echo. dust trap. echo. dust trap. there.
Btw, there's just no reason to remove those mobs. Echo trapping has been around for ages, and it works in a lot of places.

I think a-net wants us to farm these critters this way. Other ways it would state that hopping vampires, and tought stealers no longer drop items and give exp when dead ^^

Great guide works like a charm and its do-able with an E/R
Attribute points
Fire Magic = 4 + 3 + 1
Energy Storage = 11 + 2 or 3 (3 is better)
Beast mastery = 5
Wilderness Survival = 12
Skills
Spike Trap
Dust Trap
Flame Trap
Barbed Trap
Bed of Coal
Sperent's Quickness
Energizing Wind
Quickening Zephyr
Equipment
+5 energy Wand
15/-1 Focus
And
15/-1 set
Basically use all traps until energy is all out than swtich to the 15/-1 set and use one more trap and put down bed of coal then aggro and watch them burn

I don't see exactly how an Ele/Ranger could possibly echo anything....
